‘Stars Can’t Shine Without Darkness’ follows the life of fourteen-year-old, Bonnie, with her life in her cosy town of Wilbury. In between spending time at the bookshop, she attends the most amazing boarding school, spends time with her amazing family and the best friend she could ask for… that is, until the pandemic.   

Returning to school after the 2020 lockdown, Bonnie quickly discovers everyone has changed from who they used to be. Suddenly, attending school doesn’t feel so amazing, as Bonnie’s lifelong best friend, Kylie Beckett, becomes detached from herself and Bonnie. As Kylie drifts closer to the school troublemakers, Bonnie desperately attempts to fit in with the group. While she strays from her authentic self, how many people will she hurt along the way?  Back at home, long forgotten cracks within her family are beginning to show. Bonnie’s dad moves out, leaving Bonnie with nothing but unanswered questions. How deep is Bonnie willing to go to search for answers? Who is she willing to break?
